This event is part of the Thacher Gallery exhibit Anting Anting | Magic Objects which will run Mar. 5-Apr. 15, 2018. This work by Michael Arcega examines mystical power, objectified–strength, safety and protection from the challenges of contemporary life and politics. They guard from the looming threats that surround us and empower those who believe. Arcega is an interdisciplinary artist working primarily in sculpture and installation to explore the ways that cultural markers are embedded in objects and languages.
