Event Title

Zine Workshop

Event Description

Express yourself! Make your own zine at Gleeson Library!

Zines are short-run, independently, or self-published magazines on a variety of subjects. They are made by artists, writers, and other interesting people (like you!).  Zines are created in a variety of ways using comics, collage, drawings, hand written, or typed text, and their themes often include art, poetry, comics, short stories, cultural criticism, and social commentary.

At this workshop, we'll share our ideas about zines, look at some zines in the Gleeson Zine Library, and show people how to make their own zine. Both experienced zinesters and people who are just getting started are encouraged to attend.  Drop by when you can, or stay for the entire time!
